We offer yet another way to record your wedding day if you don't mind giving budding event videographers a chance to show their stuff. They are broadcast media grads from Algonquin, who have the technical skills but wish to experience the real life aspects of shooting live events.
It may be a great alternative worth considering if budgets are stretched, yet still have the opportunity to record your special day with a great deal more polish than your Uncle Ed may give you.
The student will be outfitted with all the hi-end gear used on the professional shoots, have the use of pro software tools* to edit your video and certainly not to be discounted, his/her talent and creativity. You would be surprised as to what these kids can do.

Wedding Video Extras

Here is a summary of the many optional productions that can be included in your final wedding video package. Choose one or more.
Picture Story
A short story done in pictures with a warm accompanying underscore; using pictures from your early youth to when you have met.
Highlight Reel
A video montage set to music, where the highlights of the ceremony and the reception are tied together in a wonderfully paced production.
Web Video
A condensed version of the ceremony compressed to Microsoft *wmv video format. Streamable from SMI's web-site, thus viewable any where in the world. Access is via username and password.
Web Photo
Selected photographs of your wedding event posted to our web-site. Access is the same as for the Web-Video option.
Reflections
A pre-wedding interview with yourselves talking about how you met, your courtship, along with other short anecdotes of your times together.
Rehearsal Party
An "off the cuff" production, recording the goings on during the rehearsal and the rehearsal party. Can be amusing.
DVD Production
The process to create a DVD title from the wedding video and photo materials into an interactive user environment. DVD option provides 3 copies, which includes motion menus or a stills option, high quality photo\pictorial montage on covers and media. Extra copies at a modest cost.
Widescreen (16:9)
Your wedding can now be produced in the 16:9 "Widescreen" --STANDARD DEFINITION (SD) video format (not to be confused with the new High Definition resolution, but will be playable on High Definition TV sets). Widescreen produces an additional 33% in video width and is compatible to current DVD set-top players. This means a more scenic scope to your wedding visuals. Audio is high fidelity Dolby stereo.
Bride Preparation
A short and entertaining production of the bride and her attendants and\or the family as they prepare for the ceremony. A very eloquent yet fun addition to your wedding package. Fully produced, with special effects, group and family shots and close-ups.
Groom Preparation
Another fun option to select. This time from the guy's perspective. It can be corny!
Video Transfer
Transfer all of the unedited video that was captured onto digital tape to either VHS or DVD format if desired. The original Mini-DV digital tapes can also be purchased outright.
Still Picture Archive
All still pictures taken during the course of the day, are available on CD-ROM. Images are stored as high resolution JPEG's.
Production Artworks
All graphic artworks used for DVD case covers, DVD disk surface images, photo-montages and DVD menu's, used in the video production are available. All are in Photoshop PSD format.
