When he arrives, they fight and Slim beats Mitch unconscious, and eventually knocks him off a balcony to his death. The police regard her actions as self-defense. Slim and Gracie reunite and go to live with Joe in Seattle.

She leaves Joe behind and, in need of money, goes to her father, Jupiter, a wealthy philanderer who has never met his daughter before. Slim tells him who she is, but he does not believe her and gives her $12 to go away. Slim leaves, disheartened, and moves with Gracie to Michigan.

Women who endure abuse are encouraged to get out of the situation. Granted, Enough portrays an extreme example of murderous obsession, but Slim's first response to her husband's abuse is to leave and seek help, and that's good. In this case, Slim's friends rise to the occasion, even risking their own lives to help her.

Slim finds herself in a nightmare of desperately trying to get away from him with Gracie. Futterman (The Birdcage) plays Slim's ex-boyfriend, Joe, Lewis (Natural Born Killers) plays Slim's best friend, Ginny and Fred Ward (The Right Stuff) briefly appears as Slim's father, Jupiter.
