Programs + Events

Seguin Township offers several ways to get involved in the community while staying active and healthy! Some of these offerings require volunteer support. Please consider adding your name to our list. Visit the volunteer page for details.

Ice rentals and Public Skating

Private ice rentals

Summer ice rentals:

Start July 1st - September 1st.

$175 per hour includes H.S.T. + Liability insurance ($1.51-$5.40/hour)
Limited ice times available. Contact Kara 705-732-4300 ext. 263 or email kduggan@seguin.ca for availability and to book.


Fall/Winter ice rentals:

Private, youth, and group ice rentals are available September through to the end of March.

Winter Ice: $135.00 per hourincludes H.S.T.+ Liability insurance ($1.51-$5.40/hour)
Youth Rate: (Winter only) $82.99 per hourincludes H.S.T.*Youth rate only applies to local minor hockey/ local figure skating/ youth organizations.


Public Skating

Public skating takes place at theHumphrey Community Centre.

Fall/Winter:

  • Cost $2/skater, kids 4 and under skate for free!
  • Check our Calendar of Events*hereto ensure there has been no changes to our regular schedule.

Public Skating- Starting October 5th Saturday and Sundays 11 am - 1 pm *subject to change

Please check Calendar of events for changes before coming to the arena.

Adult Skate Wednesdays 11 am - 12:30 pm (starting September 18th)

  • Cost $2/skater

Parent and Tot Skate Thursdays 10 am - 12 pm (starting September 19th)

St. John's Ambulance Babysitting and Home Alone courses

Seguin Township, in partnership with the Seguin Public Libraries, host St. John's Ambulance babysitting and home alone courses a few times throughout the year. Watch our social media accounts, newsletters and bulletin boards for information about upcoming sessions.

Home Alone ($65)- Designed for 10-12 years old to give them basic emergency and safety training. Topics included – people at the door 911, emergencies, and first aid skills.This course covers many issues that will help children and their parents feel more confident. All participants who successfully finish the session receive a completion certificate.

Babysitting ($70) – Designed for 12-15 to teach babysitting, leadership, and first aid skills.

Ball Hockey

Ball Hockey runs in the spring at the Humphrey Community Centre. Please visit our ball hockey page to register and for more information.

Swim Program

Life Saving Society swim lessons are offered during the summer atRosseau WaterfrontandFoley Matheson Beach.Registration for 2024 will open online Wednesday May 15th at 7 am. Please visit our swim page often and follow us on social media for details.

Pickleball

Pickleball takes place at the following times and locations throughout the township. Everyone is welcome. Come out and try something new. No charge. Paddles available if needed.

Orrville Community Centre
Monday and Wednesday 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am - 12:30pm

Foley Community Centre
Monday and Thursday 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Sports Courts

Seguin Township has two sports courts that are always open for play.

Rosseau Sports Court
- Basketball nets
- Ball hockey nets
- Designated skateboarding area
- Pickleball Court - to unlock net from fence lock code is 1982. Please lock net back up once you are done playing.

Humphrey Sport Court
- Adjacent to a children's park
- Basketball nets
- Ball hockey nets
- There is a baseball diamond available for use, cross the road, behind Humphrey Public School.


Equipment is available to sign out for free attheHumphrey Arenabetween 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. We have equipment for:
